Artist Bio
I am a fine artist, as well as a web and graphic designer. I have varied experience in the arts, from painting commissioned portraits to working as a corporate web developer and instructional designer. I have worked in various professional settings, from small business to a large corporate office, and am experienced working with a variety of clients. My paintings depict different impressions or moments of time I see during my travels, or during memorable times spent with people. I love traveling, both to local destinations, as well as to other countries, and documenting what I experience with my camera. Some of my photos stand on their own as art, and others provide me with reference material for creating paintings. Visiting locales such as New Zealand and Europe have been particularly inspirational for me. I enjoy painting portraits, landscapes, water scenes, and still lifes - basically, anything! I am particularly intrigued by painting light and reflections, especially water and glass, as well as various textures and skin tones. I am originally from the New York area, but now reside in Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated with a BA in Art from Messiah College in Pennsylvania in 1992. I am now pursuing my art full-time as a painter and web designer.
